NEHAN SESSHIN 2026

Sesshin in honour of Shakyamuni Buddha’s entry into Nirvana.

The monthly sesshins at Kōsetsu-ji are periods of practice open to everyone, and the rhythm of the days allows everyone, regardless of their experience of Zen, to immerse themselves in the simple life of the temple, to harmonise with others and with the entire universe, and to free themselves for a few days from their usual worries and concerns in order to practise the Way of the Buddha.

The Nehan sesshin commemorates Shakyamuni Buddha’s entry into Parinirvana.

Participants will be guided by the abbess’s teaching and the presence of the elders, who will contribute to the smooth running of the retreat.

Beginners are welcome.

Arrival on Thursday 12 February 2026, from 6pm. Meal at 7pm.

Departure on Sunday 15 February 2026, in the afternoon.
